I'm not going to write much on this, but...
Here's hoping that the charges against Larry O'Brien stick. And that Ottawa gets a mayor that, you know, doesn't "break" the "law" (allegedly - innocent until proven guilty) to get into City Hall.
This member of the public says STEP DOWN! Well, I'd say that regardless of the charges, but this should be a last straw for Mayor O'Brien's reign of beigery.

Just once he should do the right thing and step down. What ever happened to honourable men who would remove themselves from a position of authority when they are under investigation and facing criminal charges? Whether or not he is found innocent or guilty, a completely innocent person would not be charged in the first place.
I'm a bit sick and tired of seeing our elected officials behave without any sense of public duty or personal code of honour.
In that vein, I would totally vote for the first mayoral candidate to follow a strict Samurai Code of Honour. When did acting selfishly become honourable and good?
Well, I think the writing is on the wall for O'Brien on this one. The investigation seems to have been a thorough, low-key affair and the fact he is being charged points to some amount of wrongdoing on his part.
I'm pretty convinced this is going to rock the City of Ottawa...after all, you don't hear about very many big city mayors getting into so much trouble, so early in their tenure.
You have to go back something like a century to find another case against a Canadian mayor such as this.

At least he has a reason to talk to Conrad Black now.
